A. Oppression
A Jolly Brothers project was one of the final projects that Perry worked on before it all fell to pieces. As a result,
their work surfaced in a piecemeal fashion over the years. This JA single is from when a young Prince Jammy took over the
controls of the project and Mr K. and others say it's recorded at Harry J's. Others claim it was at the Ark (though still
the Prince).
The sound is far more Steppers than Perry, who had by then, a very distinctive sound that is found on other
Jolly Brothers tracks. Judging from Perry's deteriorating mental and emotional health, the vibe was thus resident at his studio.
It would seem a strange move for an outside producer to use the Ark.
