A. Trying To Be Free Production unknown (either Martin Riley or Lee Perry)
Aka What's The World Coming To this song appears on the compilation album Curly Locks.
Junior Byles' cut with similar lyrics got released in 1970 on the UK labels Pama Supreme and Supreme. The song appears on the album Beat Down Babylon known as Demonstration.
A. The Result Produced by Lee Perry
Instrumental version of A Testimony and most probably mistitled as The Result. The Result is a stand alone riddim featured on the album Scratch The Upsetter Again.
B. Feel The Spirit Produced by Lee Perry
Organ version of Touch Of Fire
A. Dont Give Up Produced by Lee Perry
Also released on the album Chapter 3 - Live As One
B. Give Up (Version) Produced by Lee Perry
A 2nd (dub)take of Don't Give Up
If you listen carefully, you will hear that the vocal and the dub of this song are in fact two different takes. It's quite obvious in the drumparts of the intro.
The riddim of Give Up (Version) has also been used for the Lord Koos produced song Hold On I'm Coming by Owen Gray (PH 87).
A. Lively Up Yourself Produced by Bob Marley & The Wailers
When African Herbsman was issued, Lee Perry was credited as producer for all tracks, something that later drew anger from the Wailers; the group is said not to have known about the album's release and blamed Perry for the use of their material without due credit or permission.
Perry himself accused Trojan of acting improperly, claiming he had nothing to do with the track selection and laying the blame at the feet of Trojan's boss, Lee Gopthal, who had rejected the Soul Revolution album in the first place.
